Warrior Creek LLC
Tom Karol, in partnership with CIC Partners LP has formed Warrior Creek LLC to make equity investments in consumer, building or industrial product manufacturers or distributors. The ideal investment candidate is a company that has proven its viability, but seeks to leverage Warrior Creek's operational capabilities and CIC Partners' resources to improve performance and produce exceptional investment returns.
Industry targets for Warrior Creek LLC include:
- Principally manufacturing and distribution companies that produce consumer products related to the home and building products
Desired attributes include:
- Minimum size of $100mm in current or potential revenues
- Product innovation should be key to current and future success
- Backable incumbent management important but not mandatory
- Turnarounds are interesting so long as brand is not in jeopardy
- Opportunity to improve performance will be critical to our analysis

About Tom Karol
Tom Karol is the former CEO of ElkCorp, (NYSE: ELK), a manufacturer of roofing, composite lumber and specialty fabrics, which was sold in February 2007. Under Tom's leadership the company grew sales and earnings significantly. EBITDA grew at 45% CAGR over the 5 years.
Prior to Elk, Tom owned and ran Pro Group, which was a carpet manufacturer and the largest distributor of flooring products. The company was sold in December of 1999 returning 35X to the investors. In the 1980's Tom provided leadership to companies in various industries including steel bar manufacturing, heating and air conditioning manufacturing and plastic parts for the aerospace industry.
